Trevor Eggleston
Adams State College sophomore quarterback Trevor Eggleston (Tucson, Ariz.) has been named as the inaugural ASCGrizzlies.com Athlete of the Week for the 2010-2010 academic school year.
Eggleston, who completed 17 of 23 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns without being intercepted in the Grizzlies’ win over the Red Storm was also named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Rawlings Offensive Player of the Week and then was tabbed as the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Colorado Chapter’s Player of the Week earlier this week.
Now 5-2 in his career as a starter, Eggleston was quite efficient Saturday, completing three passes for 50 or more yards, including an 85-yard strike to Shane McBurney (Chandler, Ariz.) as the tandem set a new NCAA Division II era (1992-Present) school-record for the longest touchdown pass and catch. His 73.7 percent completion rate was the best of any Grizzly quarterback in seven years and the third best in available single-game history. Furthermore, his 14.7-yard per pass attempt average and 240.4 passer efficiency rating were the best single-game marks in available school history that dates back to 1997. [+]
