by David Mejia

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Adams State College Athletic Department and KSPK-FM are please to announce that a total of 51 regular season Grizzly men’s and women’s basketball games will be aired on the station. The announcement was made Friday by ASC Associate Athletic Director Chris Day and KSPK General Manager Paul Richards.

Included in the broadcast schedule are 28 men’s game and 23 women’s contests, including all 19 men’s and women’s Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference double-headers. KSPK will also air any RMAC Tournament games that the Grizzlies are involved in during the post-season.

KSPK can be heard on 103.5 FM in Alamosa and throughout southern Colorado (check local listings). The state and the games can also be heard via the internet at www.kspk.com.

KSPK’s extensive coverage will kickoff next Saturday as the men’s basketball team takes on Colorado College in an exhibition game. The station will also air ASC’s men’s games during the Town & Country Cool Sunshine Classic Basketball Tournament at Plachy Hall as it hosts Texas-Permian Basin on Friday Nov. 17 and Dixie State (Utah) on Saturday Nov. 18.

The station will also cover the Grizzlies when both the men's and women's teams travel to the West Texas A&M Thanksgiving Tournament in Canyon Texas.

KSPK will also air ASC's women's contests as the Grizzlies take part in the Metro State Comfort Inn Downtown Classic on Dec. 29-30. The Grizzlies will face Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 29 and Texas Woman's on the 30th.

The only games KSPK will not announce are those that are a part of time and travel conflicts, when both ASC squads are in action at different locations.

“Once again, KSPK has stepped up and has shown their overwhelming support for our student-athletes, their friends and family and all Grizzly fans from around the world,” Day said. “The strength of our partnership continues to amaze me and we look forward to another great year of Grizzly basketball.”

The ASC women’s basketball team is under the direction of first-year head coach Kelly Kruger, while the men’s team is led by Larry Mortensen, who begins his 11th season at the helm of the Grizzlies.
