Jensen named to Academic All-RMAC squad

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Adams State College senior Wes Jensen (Molalla, Ore.) has been making a name for himself both on and off the court. Already fifth on ASC’s career 3-point field goals made list and leading the 3-point percentage chart, Jensen is also ranked in the top 15 in both rebounding and scoring average. He was also named to the Second Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division squad after last season.
But Jensen’s skills also run beyond the hardwood and extend into the classroom as he was also named to the Academic All-RMAC team last week. Those teams are nominated and selected by the sports information directors from basketball playing institutions around the conference. Five players are named to the first and second teams based on the number of votes received.
To qualify for Academic All-RMAC distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better, be a starter or key reserve, and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their institution.
Jensen was the lone selection to the All-Academic lists from ASC. He currently holds a 3.61 GPA while majoring in exercise physiology. He is currently second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game and rebounding with 5.0 boards per contest.
Jensen and the Grizzlies are currently in the midst of a 4-game win streak and sit just one game out of the West Division lead. After sweeping Divisional rivals Colorado State-Pueblo and Western State last week, ASC faces another tough road trip this week, taking on Fort Lewis and Mesa State on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
