Grizzly hoopsters add Faulkner State's Banks to recruiting class

ALAMOSA, Colo.— New Adams State College men’s basketball coach Mark Murdock announced Tuesday that Birmingham, Ala. native Jeremy Banks has been added to his 2007 recruiting class, now eight members strong.
Banks, a 6-foot-3 wing, helped the Jack Robertson coached Faulkner State Community College Sun Chiefs to a 21-7 record and an Alabama Community College South Division Championship last year, his sophomore campaign. Banks, who was a Second Team All-Southern Division selection, averaged 10.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the team that went 14-1 in ACCC play.
“Jeremy comes from one of the top junior college programs in Alabama. Coach Robertson does a great job preparing his players and this will be my third player from his program in the last four years,” Murdock, who had been the top assistant at Eastern New Mexico University for the previous five seasons.
Prior to his career in Bay Minette, Banks played high school basketball for Minor High School of Adamsville, Ala., located just miles outside of Birmingham, the state’s largest city.
“Jeremy is a very good athlete, strong defender and has a great feel for the game. He will make an impact for us at the wing position and will fit our style of play very well,” Murdock said.
Murdock had announced the signing of seven players, all who have previous collegiate experience, earlier this summer.
