Late Show set for Thursday

ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Adams State College men’s and women’s basketball programs will host their third annual Late Show this Thursday evening in Plachy Hall.

The event begins at 8 p.m. and gives Grizzly fans a plethora of opportunities for fun, entertainment, and free prizes. Those who attend have a chance to participate in a shooting contest and to sign up for various giveaways with the shot at winning free books for a semester at ASC or a prize of $10,000.

The 2008-09 men’s and women’s basketball teams will compete against each other in a 3-point shootout and members of the men’s team will also compete in a slam dunk contest. Both teams will also show off their skills and new faces in inter-squad scrimmages.

The Grizzly men, coming off an NCAA Division II era (1992-93/Present) record 18-win season, return four players from last year and have nine newcomers.  The Grizzly women, who advanced to the RMAC Tournament for the first time in 13 years last season, welcome back eight players from 2007-08 and have six new faces for the season  ahead.
