Second annual Alumni Match set for Aug. 22
ALAMOSA, Colo.— Adams State College volleyball coach Lindy Mortensen announced that her program will host its second annual alumni match on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. in Plachy Hall.
The teams also plans a brunch, free to all participating alumnae, that morning at 11 o’clock.
The match which will pit the alumni team against her 2009 squad, which will be preparing for their season-opener on Friday, Aug. 28. The match will be played using the revised collegiate format of best of 5 sets, the first four of which are to 25 points. The fifth set will still be played to 15 points.
All interested ASC volleyball alumnae interested in playing in the match should contact Mortensen at (719) 587-7456 or by email at lindy_mortensen@adams.edu before July 30.
In 2008, Mortensen’s squad defeated the Alumni Team, that included some of the best players in ASC history, in five close sets.
