RMAC Volleyball Release #4
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Click here to view the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s fourth weekly volleyball release of the 2009 season. Include in Monday’s release are results from last week's matches, player of the week selections, conference schedules, news & notes from around the league and a look at the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.
The Grizzlies (5-4, 2-0 RMAC) share the RMAC's longest winning streak and are in a first place tie in the RMAC West and overall RMAC standings after posting 4-set wins over Fort Lewis and Western State last weekend in Plachy Hall.
This week, the Grizzlies are on the road in New Mexico and face New Mexico Highlands (1-10, 0-2 RMAC) and Western New Mexico (3-7, 1-1 RMAC) on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen on a subscription basis thanks to B2 Networks.
Grizzly fans can also follow Saturday's match against Western New Mexico from Drag's Court in Silver City, N.M. thanks to live statistics on the Mustangs' web site.
Grizzly senior middle hitter Darcy Jennings-Calkins (Lakin, Kan.) leads the RMAC in both blocks and total points and ranks amongst the RMAC's top five players in five different statistical categories.
Freshman Dominique Davis (Denver, Colo.) is seventh in the RMAC in kills while juinor setter Mary McNeil (Phoenix, Ariz.) is ranked third in assists. Sophomore libero AJ Palmer (Colorado Springs, Colo.) stands fourth in the RMAC in digs.
