Grizzly fans can follow the Grizzlies in numerous ways

KEARNEY, Neb.— Adams State College volleyball fans will be able to follow the Grizzlies in a variety of ways this weekend as they compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament that begins Thursday here in the University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Health & Sports Center.

The Grizzlies, who finished the regular season with a winning 14-13 overall record, went 11-8 in RMAC play and finished second in the RMAC West Division standings while earning the No. 7 overall seed for the tournament  They will face West Division Champion and No. 2 seed Mesa State (18-10, 16-3 RMAC) in the quarterfinal round.  The match begins at 2:30 p.m. CST (1:30 p.m. Mountain) and will be the third meeting between the teams this year.

The winner will advance to Friday’s semifinal round against the winner of the No. 3 Colorado Mines/No. 6 Regis quarterfinal match.  That semifinal would begin at 5 p.m. CST (4 p.m. Mountain).  Saturday’s championship match will begin at 7 p.m. CST (6 p.m. Mountain).

KSPK-FM (104.1 in Alamosa) will have live coverage of all the Grizzlies’ matches on the radio and via the station’s website at www.kspk.com.

Fans that want to make the trip in person can buy a tournament pass in advance by clicking here to visit UNK’s ticketing website.  Passes are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. 

Single session tickets will be available at the Health & Sports Center beginning Thursday morning.  Adult tickets will cost $8 while seniors and children can gain admission for $4.  College students with a valid ID can purchase $2 tickets.

The Grizzlies have advanced to the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament in each of the past two seasons and also advanced in 2003, when they defeated Mesa State in the quarterfinal round.

The winner of the tournament will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
