Friday's basketball games to be televised on KSPK

WALSENBURG, Colo.— Adams State College’s women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader against New Mexico Highlands University on Friday night will be televised on a tape-delay basis on KSPK-TV.  The games in Plachy Hall begin at 6 & 8 p.m. and will be aired on starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 and again on Sunday, Feb. 7, starting at 2 p.m., according to station general manager Paul Richards.

KSPK will also broadcast the Grizzlies’ Feb. 12 basketball doubleheader at Colorado State-Pueblo.  The air times for that doubleheader have also been set and are at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14.

The station can be viewed in the Spanish Peaks region from Colorado City/Rye to Trinidad. (A listing of coverage areas and channels can be found below.)

KSPK sports director and “Voice of the Grizzlies” Mike St. Clair will call the play-by-play action.  The game can also be heard live on KSPK-FM (104.1 in Alamosa) and via the internet at www.kspk.com.

The games, which are produced by Pueblo Community College’s Center for New Media, will also be placed into the rotation for airing on Comcast Channel 19 in Pueblo.

DVD copies of the game will also be sold for $29.82 each (including shipping & handling) by the PCC Center for New Media. To place an order, interested persons should call (719) 549-3178 and allow three weeks for delivery.

The broadcast agreement between ASC and KSPK is the only one of its kind in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. In addition to live coverage of all ASC football and basketball games, the station carries many volleyball and softball games live on the radio. KSPK also airs “Grizzly Talk”, a weekly show featuring interviews with coaches and ASC student-athletes, on Wednesday nights.  That show is broadcast from the San Luis Valley Brewing Company in downtown Alamosa.

The television portion of the contract calls for two football broadcasts and two basketball doubleheaders per year.
