Grizzlies down Northwest Missouri but fall to #9 Bulldogs
ASC spikers 1-1 after Day 1 at UNO Tournament

OMAHA, Neb.— The Adams State College volleyball team got the 2010 campaign off to a good start as the Grizzlies rallied from a set behind on two different occasions to outlast Northwest Missouri State in five sets (15-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12) to win their first of four matches at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Volleyball Showcase, being played this weekend here in the Mavericks’ Sapp Fieldhouse.
The win over the Bearcats was the Grizzlies’ first in a season-opener since 2007.
The Grizzlies then dropped their second match of the day to Minnesota-Duluth, ranked ninth in the country according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, in three sets (25-14, 25-20, 25-20).
Statistics from either match were not available as of 7:30 p.m. MDT but will be posted as soon as they are.
The Grizzlies will continue action at the 2-day tournament Saturday facing Northern State (S.D.) and Newman (Kan.).
