Grizzlies to take on No. 16 WT, No. 6 Saint Leo
Matches to be carried live on KSPK

DENVER— The Adams State College Grizzlies will play two more nationally-ranked teams Saturday as they will face No. 16 West Texas A&M and No. 6 Saint Leo (Fla.) in Bronze Division play at the Colorado Premier Challenge. Both matches will be held in Metro State’s Auraria Events Center and can be heard live on KSPK-FM (104.1 in Alamosa) and via the internet at www.kspk.com.
Coverage for 9:30 a.m. match against West Texas A&M will begin with KPSK Sports Director Bryant Johnson’s pre-match show at 9:15 a.m. The match against St. Leo will begin at 12:30 p.m.
In between the matches, the station will air the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference radio show and Johnson’s Grizzly Connection, which highlights the happenings throughout the ASC Athletic Department.

The Grizzlies, now 1-5 on the young season, put up fights but eventually succumbed to No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) and No. 25 West Florida on Friday in Pool II. Sophomore outside hitter Dominique Davis (Denver, Colo.) put down a combined 37 kills in those matches and leads the elite 11-team field in that category.
West Texas A&M, now 3-3 on the season, also went 0-2 in pool play Friday falling to No. 10 Southwest Minnesota Stats, 3-0, and to co-host Metro State, ranked 12th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Coaches’ Poll, in four sets.
The Grizzlies last played the Lady Buffs in 2005 and are 0-5 against them all-time. West Texas A&M has won three national championships and has been to the Elite Eight an incredible 11 times.
The Grizzlies faced Saint Leo last season in Golden, Colo., falling in three sets. The Lions, now 4-2 on the season, fell to No. 19 Wayne State (Neb.) in straight sets and to unranked Regis in four sets on Friday in pool play.
