RMAC Volleyball Release #8

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Click here to view the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s eighth weekly volleyball release of the 2010 season. Include in Monday’s release are RMAC/Baden Player of the Week selections, conference standings, upcoming schedules, recent results, news and notes, and a look at the national and RMAC preseason polls.
With three week and six matches left in the regular season, the Adams State College Grizzlies (7-13, 4-8 RMAC) stand two matches behind a 3-way tie for seventh, eighth and ninth place in overall RMAC standings that will eventually determine the eight teams that will qualify for the RMAC Tournament, which will be held Nov. 11-13 in Kearney, Neb., as announced by the conference today.
The Grizzlies are at home again this weekend as they conclude a season-long 5-match homestand by facing Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands on Friday and Saturday evening, respectively.
Western New Mexico, which plays at New Mexico Highlands on Thursday night, is one of the three teams the Grizzlies are chasing for the last tournament spots and enters the week with 8-9 overall and 6-6 RMAC records. New Mexico Highlands is 4-17 overall and 0-12 in conference play entering this week.
The Grizzlies' Friday night match against Western New Mexico will begin at 7 p.m. while Saturday's match will begin at 5 p.m. On Saturday as part of their San Luis Valley night promotion, all San Luis Valley high school students with a letter jacket or valid student ID will be admitted free while other San Luis Valley residents will receive a free ticket to attend the Grizzlies' 7 o'clock football game against Fort Lewis.
