Grizzlies showed off improvement down stretch against top RMAC squads

COLORADO SPRINGS – Click here to view the 11th Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) men’s soccer release of the 2010 season. Tuesday’s release includes RMAC tournament results, the 2010 league all-tournament team, team records, a listing of league postseason awards and the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship bracket.
Adams State concluded its second season of men’s soccer action on Oct. 31 on the road against defending national champ Fort Lewis, where the Grizzlies showed a three-goal improvement over their previous meeting with the Skyhawks, just two days after notching a five-goal improvement in a loss against Colorado Mines. ASC finished with an overall mark of 1-16 and 1-13 in league play, good for eighth in the RMAC ahead of Colorado Christian, against whom the Grizzlies recorded their first ever victory, by a 3-1 tally, on Oct. 15.
Colorado Mines, ranked first in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for four weeks during the regular season, won the RMAC tournament and is joined in the NCAA Division Men’s Soccer Championship tournament by Regis. Colorado Mines and Regis will meet in the first round of the national tournament on Thursday.
