Grizzlies prepare for return to pool Saturday at Colorado Mines Tri-Meet

COLORADO SPRINGS – Click here to view the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s (RMAC) seventh men’s and women’s swimming release of the 2010-11 season. Wednesday’s release includes men’s and women’s swimmers and divers of the week, a list of upcoming meets, news and notes from around the league as well as a look at preseason league polls and awards.
It’s been over a month but the Adams State men’s and women’s swimmers will finally be back in action this Saturday as the travel to Golden, Colo. for the Colorado Mines Tri-Meet. There, the Grizzlies will swim duals against both Colorado College and fellow RMAC member Colorado Mines.
The Grizzly men faced swam against the Orediggers at their season-opening Adams State Duals at the Plachy Hall Pool on Oct. 2. The three-way dual was the first ASC men’s swimming action since the 1970s, and the Grizzlies fell by a score of 270-67.
ASC’s second-year women’s program also faced Colorado Mines at their home meet, coming up on the short side of a 191-143 decision against the Orediggers.
The Grizzlies were last in action at the Intermountain Shootout hosted by Mesa State on Oct. 8-9, where the man swam duals against Air Force, Mesa State and Utah, and the women raced against Mesa State and Northern Colorado.
Saturday’s meet gets underway at 2 p.m. in the CSM Natatorium.
