Grizzly cheer squad looking to add positive, hard-working team members

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Adams State cheer team coach Valerie Hagedorn has announced that the Grizzlies cheerleading squad will be holding open tryouts for new team members on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Plachy Hall.

Tryouts will be held in the main gym in Plachy Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individuals will need to bring with them two letters of recommendation, an acceptance letter from Adams State and completed on-line recruit form and pre-participation packet.

The ASC cheer squad is looking to add positive and hard-working individuals to the team for the 2011-12 season. Areas of emphasis that those trying out will be judged on include stunting kills, tumbling skills, jumps, positive attitudes and creativity. Those trying out should come prepared to demonstrate elite level jumps and a sideline cheer of their own material.

Those participating in the tryout should wear a white shirt or tank top, black shorts, cheer shoes and hair up out of the face.
