Grizzly Men Ranked No. 6 in Regional Rankings
First time program earns regional recognition

KANSAS CITY, Kan.- For the first time in program history, the Adams State College men's soccer program has earned regional recognition as they were ranked sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Coaches' Poll that was released on Tuesday.
The Grizzlies, who have had their best start in program history, are 1-1-1 on the season as their only loss came in the first game in the season where the Grizzlies allowed the only goal in the game with just 22 seconds remaining in the first overtime.
Adams State then rebounded and had a strong 4-0 victory, their first shutout in the program's 3-year history, over the University of Texas-Permian Basin on last Friday in their home-opener.
On Sunday, the Grizzlies traveled to Grand Junction to take on Colorado Mesa University where they were able to escape from the non-conference game with a 1-1 tie.
The Grizzlies were just one of nine Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams that were ranked in the Top 10 as the Fort Lewis Skyhawks were ranked No. 1. The only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference selection was the University of Mary (N.D.).
