Friday, the Grizzlies opened their weekend against Colorado State-Pueblo. ASC entered the match trailing the ThunderWolves in the RMAC West standings, but with the help of 44 assists from Rifilato, the Grizzlies topped CSU-Pueblo in four. On Saturday, Rifilato recorded 38 assists in just three sets as Adams State topped Western State to move into a tie foe West Division lead alongside the ThunderWovles and Western New Mexico, as all three squads now hold a 5-2 RMAC record.
Rifilato currently ranks fourth among RMAC setters, averaging 10.20 per set this season, and recorded a season-best 52 on Sept. 15 in a 5-set match against Colorado Christian. She hit the half-century mark again the next night, with 50 assists as the Grizzlies came back from two sets down to top Colorado Mines in five sets.
The sophomore transfer also leads the Grizzlies in service aces this season with 22, and ranks third in the RMAC with an average of 0.41 per set.
Rifilato and the Grizzlies will face another pivotal RMAC West Divisional match-up at home this weekend, hosting Western New Mexico at Plachy Hall on Friday night and the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls on Saturday night. The Mustangs are 9-6 overall on the season, and topped Fort Lewis and Colorado Mesa last weekend. NMHU sports an 8-8 season record and is 3-4 in the league.
