RMAC Volleyball Week 8 Release
RMAC West leaders back to divisional play in New Mexico this weekend
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Click here to view the eighth volleyball release from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) of the 2011 season. Monday’s release includes standings, RMAC/Baden Players of the Week, recent results, upcoming matches, news & notes from around the conference and a look at the polls.
Despite a 1-2 weekend in which ASC lost to a pair of RMAC East foes, the Grizzlies gained a game on each of its closest chasers in the West standings, Colorado State-Pueblo and Western New Mexico as each lost all three matches over the weekend.
Before falling in their final two matches of the 3-game road swing, the Grizzlies did manage to extend their Division II-era (1992-present) record RMAC winning streak to seven games by taking down Chadron State in three sets on Thursday.
Adams State is now 8-4 in league play this season, owning a 2-4 mark against East division opponents while having a perfect 6-0 record against teams in its own division.
Only two games await the Grizzlies this weekend, as they’ll be back in action against fellow West opponents New Mexico Highlands on Friday and Western New Mexico on Saturday. ASC topped the Cowgirls earlier this fall in four sets, and NMHU now stands at 8-13 overall and 3-9 in the RMAC. Against WNMU, ASC came-from-behind in dramatic fashion, winning the final three sets in the match that gave the Grizzlies their first divisional lead of the season. The Mustangs have now lost four straight, and will be idle on Friday before facing Adams State.
Fans unable to make the trip to the Land of Enchantment to stay on top of the action by watching a live video broadcast through subscription-based America One on Friday, and can check out a video and live stats on Saturday.
