First 100 students to receive free ticket, T-shirt

ALAMOSA, Colo.— Adams State College Athletic Department Officials announced Monday that the first 100 Adams State College students with valid identification will receive a complimentary ticket and commemorative t-shirt to attend and wear at Tuesday’s Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament quarterfinal match against Colorado State-Pueblo, courtesy of the Grizzly Club.

The tickets and t-shirts will distributed starting at 6 p.m. in the Plachy Hall lobby.  The match begins at 7 p.m.

Other ticket prices are $8 for adults and $4 for students, seniors and children (age 6 & up).  The Plachy Hall ticket window and doors to the gym will open at 6 p.m.

As Tuesday’s match is an RMAC event, no other passes of any kind, including Grizzly Club passes, will be honored for complimentary admission.  However, Grizzly Club members are still asked to bring their membership passes as they will be allowed to sit in the Grizzly Club section on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Grizzlies, appearing in the RMAC Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years, won a share of the RMAC West Division title for the first time since 2003 and sport 18-8 overall and 12-6 RMAC records.  They have won four straight overall and six straight home matches and went 7-2 at home during the regular season.

Colorado State-Pueblo went 15-12 during the regular season and posted 10-6 RMAC record to finish third in the RMAC West Division.  The ThunderWolves will be making their first RMAC Tournament appearance since 2006.

Adams State won both of the regular season meetings between the teams in four sets, defeating the ThunderWolves at home on Oct. 29.

The winner of Tuesday’s match will advance to Friday’s tournament semifinals against the winner of the quarterfinal between Nebraska-Kearney and Regis, which will be played in Kearney, Neb.

The semifinals and Saturday’s RMAC Championship match will be played on the campus of the team with the best RMAC record who advances to the semifinals.
