SCHEDULE CHANGE: Home opening weekend for ASC softball moved to Sunday, Monday
Snow postpones Grizzlies’ first weekend in Alamosa versus Fort Lewis

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The first weekend of home action for the Adams State softball team has been pushed back a day due to severe winter weather, and the Grizzlies will now open up at ASC Softball Field beginning Sunday afternoon, March 4, with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m., and conclude the series beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5.
The Grizzlies will enter the 4-game series against the Skyhawks owning a 2-6 overall record and a mark of 0-4 in league play after being swept by Western New Mexico on the road last weekend. FLC sits at 5-8 overall and is 3-1 in the RMAC following a series against Black Hills State (S.D.) to open the conference schedule.
Senior Rebecca Lindquist (Fort Collins, Colo.) leads ASC with a .400 batting average in the early-going of the season, and paces the Grizlzies with 10 runs batted in. She ranks 13th and 14th in the RMAC in each category, respectively.
At the dish, the Skyhawks are led by sophomore Chelsea Rodriguez, a 3rd Team All-RMAC performer last season. Rodriguez ranks among the top five in the league in batting average (.514), on-base percentage (.612), runs scored (15), runs batted in (15), hits (19) and home runs (5). She also leads the league with a slugging percentage of 1.081.
Junior Brandi Lovato (West Valle City, Utah) has been the Grizzlies top hurler this season. She is 1-3 on the season, having tallied a complete game victory in the season-opener against then 13th-raned Minnesota State for ASC. Lovato possesses a 4.70 earned run average (ERA) and has thrown three complete games in four starts.
Alexis Villegas and Kassie Haubert have seen the majority of the action in the circle for FLC, having thrown 29.1 innings apiece. Villegas, 2-1 on the season, owns an ERA of 3.34, while Haubert is 2-2 with a 6.44 ERA.
