RMAC Softball Week 6 Release
Grizzlies host UNK Saturday, Sunday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Click here to view the sixth weekly Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) softball release of the 2012 season. Included in Tuesday’s release are league standings, RMAC Pitcher and Player of the Week awards, recent results, upcoming games, news & notes from around the league, and a look at the polls.
The Grizzlies were in action at ASC Softball Field for the first time this season on Sunday and Monday after inclement winter weather forced a 4-game series against RMAC foe Fort Lewis to be pushed back a day.
In three of the four weekend games, ASC entered the seventh inning with the lead, but the Skyhawks left Alamosa with three wins.
Freshman Morgan McWilliams (Edgewood, N.M.) recorded the only win for ASC in the pitcher’s circle and is now 1-0 on the season. In her first career start, McWilliams went the distance in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader, a 6-5 Adams State win.
ASC saw late leads disappear during the first game of each day, as FLC scored five in the top of the seventh in game one Sunday to claim an 11-9 win, and three in the top of the seventh in game one Monday to win an 8-6 contest.
Adams State remains at home this coming weekend, when the Grizzlies will face RMAC foe Nebraska-Kearney four a 4-game set on Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11. Game times are set for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, before concluding with 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. contests Sunday. Grizzly fans can follow the action by checking out live stats.
Following the weekend series, the Grizzlies return to the road for an 8-game road swing that will take them to Texas for two against 2nd-ranked West Texas A&M (March 13), New Mexico for two against Eastern New Mexico (March 14), and South Dakota for a 4-game RMAC series against Black Hills State (March 17-18).
