KSPK announces Grizzly basketball broadcast schedule

by Jacque Scoby

ALAMOSA, Colo.— The Adams State College Athletic Department and KSPK-FM are pleased to announce that a total of 49 regular season Grizzly men’s and women’s basketball games will be aired on the stations. The announcement was made Monday by ASC Associate Athletic Director Chris Day and KSPK Sports Director Larry Patrick, the play-by-play voice of the Grizzlies.

Included in the broadcast schedule are 26 men’s games and 23 women’s contests, including all 19 men’s and women’s Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheaders. KSPK will also air any RMAC Tournament games that the Grizzlies play in.

KSPK can be heard on 103.5 FM in Alamosa, and throughout southern Colorado (check local listings). The station and the games can also be heard via the internet at www.kspk.com.

KSPK’s extensive coverage will kickoff this weekend when the women’s team hosts the Best Western Alamosa Inn Classic in Plachy Hall. The men’s team will also host Lubbock Christian University in a non-conference affair on Saturday, beginning at 4 p.m.

The station will also air ASC’s men’s games at the Fort Lewis Invitational Tournament on Dec. 2-3, along with the games at the Lubbock Christian Chap Classic on Dec. 30-31. KSPK will also cover a pair of non-conference contests, including ASC’s game at the NCAA Division I University of Utah on Dec. 19. Patrick will also announce ASC’s home match-up with Johnson & Wales (Colo.) on Jan. 23.

The station will also air ASC’s women’s games at the Metro State Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25 and 26 when the Grizzlies take on Winona State (Minn.) and Wayne State (Neb.).

The only games KSPK will not announce are those that are a part of time and travel conflicts, when both ASC squads are in action at different locations.

“Once again, KSPK has stepped up and has shown their overwhelming support for our student-athletes, their friends and family and all Grizzly fans from around the world. The strength of our partnership continues to amaze me and we look forward to another great year of Grizzly basketball,” Day said.
