As a Freshman (2011): Ranked second on team with six points on three goals… Put 19 of 36 shots taken on goal during the season… Scored twice in the Grizzlies’ 3-2 win over Colorado Christian on Oct. 14 at ASU Soccer Field… Scored again on Oct. 23 in the a 1-1 draw against UC-Colorado Springs, also at home… Played in all 17 games during his freshman campaign, starting 16 times.
Prep: Trained during his senior season of high school at Eldorado HS under coach Walt Witkowski… Helped lead Eldorado HS to 2010 district and state titles as a forward… Played under the direction of Robbie Reynolds and Kevin Driggs at La Cueva HS from 2007-09… La Cueva HS earned state championships during all three of his seasons on the team… Scored 22 goals as a freshman for La Cueva in 2007, which broke a school record that had been standing for 12 years… Named team MVP as a freshman at La Cueva HS.
Club: Member of the Rio Vista FC from 2001-08, currently under coach Chris Cartlidge… RVFC went undefeated from 2001-05 while Sprouse was on the team and placed second in the state of New Mexico from 2006-08… A member of the Albuquerque United FC ‘93 from 2009-10, under the direction of coach Sage Moore… AUFC placed second in state of New Mexico in 2009 and third in 2010… Scored 21 goals and tallied 19 assists in 19 games over two seasons… Selected as a forward for the Western College Development Association (WCDA) All Star Team 2010 Thanksgiving Showcase in Las Vegas, Nev.
Academics: Plans to major in pre-physical therapy at Adams State… Hopes to become a physical therapist in the sports field after graduation.
